Chris Watson, President

Chris has a passion for reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and eliminating wasteful uses of energy and water and has made a career of providing cost effective solutions for reducing our impact on the natural environment. As a champion for waste reduction in manufacturing, Chris received numerous awards from the Bose Corporation by implementing cost saving, waste reduction and recycling programs for their South Carolina facility. Chris left Bose in 2003 and gained his Masters in Earth & Environmental Resource Management from the University of South Carolina. Chris is a US Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional and has worked as a consultant on commercial and residential LEED certified projects. In January of 2008, Chris completed the design review and certification for the first LEED Platinum Certified home in Arizona. Chris has spent the past several years utilizing his expertise in resource conservation, residential energy modeling and water conservation to assist designers, builders and homeowners in Arizona reduce their energy and water consumption. Until recently, Chris worked for a green residential architecture, construction, and renewable energy company as a high performance building designer and renewable energy system project manager. Throughout his professional career Chris has worked on creative, alternative strategies for energy and water waste reduction. Chris is a certified Home Energy Rating Systems Rater (HERS) and a certified Green Home Rater. He currently serves on the Technical Advisory Committee for the Northern Arizona Branch of the USGBC. Chris has written for numerous publications including Home Power Magazine and the US Green Building Council.

 

Craig Bird, Vice President - Senior Project Manager

Craig BirdCraig Bird, an Applied Sciences Engineer from Michigan State University, brings a strong analytical background to the ReGroup team based on his experience working with IBM and Tucson Electric Power Company. He is also a licensed real estate agent and knows first hand the importance of energy efficient homes in the current housing market. Craig is a certified Energy Rater with the Residential Energy Services Network and is in his second year of the Sustainable Energy Engineering Masters Distance Program at Sweden's Royal Institute of Technology. Craig is dedicated to bringing energy conservation practices to the new and existing residential housing industry. Complementing his passion for increased efficiency, Craig has also worked with renewable energy technology companies, focusing on solar and bio-energy, to further reduce fossil fuel consumption.
